Sniip appoints former Xero and PayPal Evangelist, Steven Cooper as Chief Technology Officer

Mobile payment technology company Sniip has announced the appointment of renowned tech speaker and experienced developer Steven Cooper (known as DeveloperSteve) to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Sniip’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, Damien Vasta, said Mr Cooper was a valuable addition to the Brisbane-based company which is developing a state-of-the-art mobile payment app offering consumers a central, secure and organised method to receive, view and pay bills.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Steven Cooper to the team in what is such an exciting period of growth for our company,” Mr Vasta said.

“He brings outstanding Australian and international experience to Sniip, having travelled nearly half a million kilometres to speak at over 100 developer conferences and events throughout the world he is a well-regarded technologist and thought leader.

His unique experience as a developer and tech evangelist is going to enable us to scale in new and innovative ways that will help perfect our frictionless payment experience for consumers. “

Sniip is working with a number of government agencies, councils and utility companies to implement its technology as a speedy and safe method of paying bills.

“Consumers can scan and pay their bills within seconds using Sniip’s trademarked circular QR code, eliminating the need to enter a long account number or bank details or waste time paying over the phone. They can also elect to receive the bill directly into their Sniip app, removing the need for a paper bill.”

Steven’s experience has been with companies including PayPal, Visa, St George and Westpac and he joins Sniip from his current employer, cloud-based accounting software giant Xero.
