Hi, we’re Sniip
We help Aussies pay almost any bill by card and earn Qantas Points or Velocity Points while they do it. Tax bill? Rent? Payroll? A biller who won’t take Amex? Sniip it.
With Points Booster, customers can earn up to 6 points per $1, so the bills nobody likes paying start getting them somewhere nice.
We’re a small team growing fast, and we’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our development team.
The role
You’ll work on the Sniip app and web portal: the screens customers use to sign up, add billers, pay bills, verify their identity and earn points. You’ll take features from first sketch to shipped, working inside our dev team every sprint.
The fun part? Paying bills is nobody’s idea of a good time. Your job is to make it fast, clear and a little bit rewarding, so people come back because they want to, not because they have to.
We lean into AI here
And so will you. You’ll have Claude in your toolkit for research synthesis, rapid prototyping, UX copy and testing ideas before they hit Figma, so you spend less time on the grind and more time on the design decisions that matter.
Your team
You’ll report to our Head of Development and work side by side with around eight developers who build with AI every day. Our marketing team looks after the website, so your focus is the product.
What you’ll get up to
Product design
Most of your week- Design new features and flows for the Sniip app (iOS and Android) and web portal, from first sketch to developer handover
- Map and improve the journeys that matter most: sign-up, identity verification, adding billers, paying a bill and linking a loyalty program
- Design for business customers too, including Sniip Payroll and business payments
- Work in the same sprints as our developers so what ships matches what was designed
- Hand over designs an AI-assisted dev team can build from fast: clear specs, tokens and components, not just pretty screens
- Find the friction points and fix them, one release at a time
System design
- Build and look after Sniip’s product design system in Figma: components, colours, type and patterns
- Keep the app and portal consistent, and in step with the brand marketing uses on the website
- Set standards for accessibility and keep us to them
Research and testing
- Work with our customer care team to understand the questions and complaints that point to design problems
- Use analytics (GA4, Firebase) to see where people drop off and test fixes
AI-powered workflow
- Use Claude, Gemini and other AI tools every day to synthesise research, prototype, write UX copy and explore ideas fast
- Work with developers who build with AI tools like Claude Code, and help shape how design and AI-assisted development fit together
- Build repeatable AI workflows (prompts, templates, skills) so design scales without the team needing to
- Keep a human eye on everything: AI speeds things up, you make sure it’s usable, accessible and feels like Sniip

Is this you?
You’ll need
- 3 to 5 years in UX/UI design, in-house or agency
- A portfolio showing end-to-end product work, from problem to shipped solution, with the results to back it up
- Strong Figma skills, including components, auto layout and prototyping
- Experience designing mobile apps (iOS and Android) and complex web apps or portals
- Hands-on experience running user research and usability testing
- A solid understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and how to design for it
- Hands-on experience using AI tools like Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT in your design work, and curiosity to push them further
Bonus points (pun intended) if you have
- Experience in fintech, payments or another regulated industry
- A soft spot for points, frequent flyer programs or personal finance
- Experience building or scaling a design system
- Enough front-end knowledge (HTML, CSS, React or similar) to talk shop with developers
- Some motion design or interaction design skills
