1. Can my company use Sniip to get our invoices paid?

Great question! This was highly requested and as such, we now offer a free business invoicing service enabling you to have a custom QR code on your business invoices for payment.

Using Sniip for your invoices enhances on-time payment performance and as the cost of living rises, collecting payments as they’re due is more important now than ever.

It’s quick and easy to apply here or phone (07) 3268 7710.

2. Can you tell me about paying the ATO through Sniip?

This is one of our most commonly asked questions right now, so we thought we’d break down the most important information about paying the ATO through Sniip!

Payment Processing Times

The cut-off times for Sniip to receive your ATO payment for processing the following business day are as follows:

  • American Express: 5pm AEST
  • Visa/Mastercard debit: 5pm AEST
  • Visa/Mastercard credit: 11:59pm AEST

Please note: Diners Club cards and payments from a Bank Account require one additional business day processing time. The cut-off time is 5pm AEST.

For example, your ATO payment is due Friday 29 September, 2023. If you add your bill on Monday 25 September before 5pm AEST, Sniip will receive your funds on Tuesday 26 September (the following business day). On Tuesday, Sniip will process your funds and send them to the ATO. On Tuesday afternoon, your payment will be sent to the ATO – you will receive a Sniip Receipt when this happens!

Why you can’t view your ATO payment in the ATO Portal yet

It often takes a few business days for the ATO to reconcile their accounts. This is why you may not be able to view your most recent payment in your ATO portal immediately.

Please rest assured that the ‘Paid’ date stamped on your Sniip Receipt is the date the ATO must acknowledge as the date the payment was made. To prove your payment date, simply provide the BPAY Receipt ID.

Processing Fees

Sniip stands as the frontrunner for making payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), regardless of the type of American Express (AMEX) card you possess. You always earn FULL points when making a payment to the ATO using Sniip, as opposed to direct ATO payments.

Although Sniip attracts a higher processing fee compared to a direct ATO payment, the cost per point with Sniip is significantly lower. Individuals and businesses will always receive more value when they pay the ATO via Sniip with a credit card. Sniip consistently offers the lowest cost, highest value option in the market.

3. What's involved with account verification, and how long does it take?

You can opt to apply for the green tick of verification on your account. If successful, this will make your account a ‘verified’ account.

From time to time, if not optionally completed, we may request verification on your account. We’ll need you to provide a clear copy of your valid government-issued photo ID document, such as an Australian Driver’s License or Passport. This document should display the following details:

1. Your complete legal name
2. Date of birth
3. Photograph
4. Document Number
Don’t worry, your data is secure! We ensure all information entered into a Sniip application or transmitted as part of a transaction is managed with the highest level of security. At Sniip, we’re proud to have achieved full Tier 1, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance — the same standard that Australian banks comply with. If you wish to pay to a biller’s bank account (BSB & Account Number) when this feature is launched soon, you’ll need to verify your account before you can complete these payments.

We usually review your verification submission within one (1) business day. You will be notified when your verification has been approved.

4. My bill is due in five days. If I pay it through my Sniip account today will it be paid on time?

It certainly will be! Provided you make your payment before 5pm AEST, we will receive your funds the following business day, and send these funds to your biller.

For example, your rent payment is due Friday 29 September, 2023. If you add your bill on Monday 25 September before 5pm AEST, Sniip will receive your funds on Tuesday 26 September (the following business day).

On Tuesday, Sniip will process your funds and send them to your utilities provider. On Tuesday afternoon, your payment will be sent to the rent company – you will receive a Sniip Receipt when this happens!
