About the role

Sitting within the Compliance and Fraud Department and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that fraud prevention and compliance stay airtight. You’ll be tackling a wide range of tasks, from investigating fraudulent transactions to reconciling payments and reviewing new billers. What you’ll do

• Manage Sniip’s daily fraud management protocol, including KYB for businesses our customers wish to pay
• Identify fraudulent transactions and complete investigations in a timely manner
• Monitor the fraud portal and respond to queries
• Implement new fraud controls and conduct trend analysis
• Reconcile payments from banking partners and review new billers for restricted industries
• Review KYC documentation and manage suspended transactions
• Assist in the detection of fraudulent or duplicate accounts
• Handle customer refunds and manage compliance updates for all Sniip policies and procedures
• Provide lunch cover for customer phone and email enquiries

Skills required

• Strong attention to detail with great problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new systems
• Experience in the payments or banking industry (highly desirable)

Qualifications

• Industry experience of minimum 2-4 years  
• A degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics 
   

Skills & Experience

• Well organised, diligent and has high quality standards
• Has strong understanding of programming principles
• Excited about working in a fast growing, professional start-up environment
• Keen to learn/work within Agile development practices (Scrum and Kanban)
• High coding standards with a strong emphasis on testing.
   

Desirable Technical Skills and Experience

• Experience in developing personal or commercial projects in Android (Java/Kotlin) using native Android frameworks (Jetpack Compose/Android Navigation Library/View Binding) – 4 years of experience / Demonstrated experience
• Experience using terminal/command line commands
• CircleCI or other continuous development/integration tools
• Have a strong technical understanding of Kotlin and the Android platform along with commercial Android development experience
• Experience in Reactive programming (RxJava, Kotlin coroutines) and with MVI design patterns
• Experience in working with GRPC and Rest API endpoints
• Experience with creating automated tests (TDD)
• Experience with dependency injection
• Be able to work autonomously in an agile environment
• Demonstrated experience using Android development tools (Android studio, Gradle)

• Open to learning other development languages and frameworks that support our technical direction/needs
• You are keen on mentoring other developers
• You work well with other members of the team and departments 

About the Role

Working as a member of the agile delivery team to develop new features and automation tests for our mobile applications.

Provide ad-hoc production support for the native Android application.

Attend, contribute and provide updates in standard agile meetings; elaboration, estimation, daily stand-up, retrospective.

Contribute ideas and provide feedback on the continuous improvement of the solution and technology roadmap.
