Sniip turns your smartphone into the ultimate bill payment experience. Sniip is a free mobile app that allows you to pay a bill in less than 10 seconds! Once registered, you simply scan a Sniip code and confirm your payment with a 4-digit PIN using your mobile wallet. You can use Sniip wherever and whenever you want.

Do I have to sign-in or create an account to use Sniip? 2017-07-11T13:29:56+00:00

Yes. You must create your account for security purposes. During this process you will also get to set up your mobile wallet, including your payment information and a secure 4-digit PIN. This information will be securely saved on your mobile device and used for further payments, so you no longer have to re-enter these details at checkout. We recommend logging out for added security.

Absolutely! Sniip uses SSL connections to securely transfer information between the mobile device and the service provider’s payment portal. The app also encrypts sensitive data that is stored on the mobile device such as payment information.

We never store your credit card information on any database or cloud based server. Your credit card data is encrypted and securely stored on your mobile device. The credit/debit card details are shared only with the service provider you transact with, as you would normally do when paying directly via their website. In fact, we never even see your credit card details!

Sniip is more secure than carrying your wallet around in public because we require you to enter a 4-digit PIN on the app, just like any other banking apps. No one can make a purchase without this PIN.

If you lose or misplace your phone, please email us at info@sniip.com. We can terminate your account which will stop the app working and remove all information from your phone permanently.

If your phone is stolen, your credit card details aren’t accessible. Your 4-digit PIN is required to view and edit any payment information. This PIN is required at the checkout stage so you cannot pay for anything without it…nor can anyone else! We monitor all activity and will intercept any payments that seem suspicious.

Very simple: just point the Sniip scanner wherever you see a circular QR (Sniip) code, confirm your payment information and complete your purchase with a secure 4-digit PIN. Alternatively, you can set a calendar reminder and pay later. It’s that easy!

You pay directly to the service provider. Payment processing is done directly by the service provider, Sniip never holds any money.

Sniip securely stores information that is required to complete an payment on your mobile device. When you make a payment, Sniip communicates with the service provider and passes on the required information so your transaction can be completed. Because you create a mobile wallet in the app, there’s no need to re-enter your payment details at checkout, making paying bills quick, easy and convenient.

Unfortunately, no. Sniip will only work with circular Sniip codes that are unique to the service provider.

Absolutely! Sniip is free to download and paying with Sniip is the same as paying directly via the service provider’s website (except that it’s much easier).*

* Credit card surcharges are at the discretion of the service provider and may apply to Sniip transactions. Please check the fine print on your bill or with your service provider.

Yes! Once you scan your bill, simply amend the amount to be paid and continue through the checkout process.

Please note, changing the amount is only available for some service providers. If your bill cannot be amended, the option to change the dollar amount will not be available.

Yes. After a successful payment you will get a transaction receipt which is stored in your payment history under settings. This receipt can be emailed or printed from the app.

Yes. Sniip is fully compliant with PCI-DSS Level 3.2 for Service Providers (version 3.2).

Your credit card data is encrypted and securely stored on your handheld device. The card number is never stored on any cloud or database. The credit/debit card details are only shared only with the service provider you at the time of payment, as you would normally do when paying directly on their website.

Only if you want to. From time to time Sniip may send you an email or push notifications to let you know important information. Should you wish to opt out, please uncheck the option under Push Notifications in the ‘Account Settings’ tab.

Please note – if you turn off push notifications, you won’t be able to use calendar reminders.

Sniip only shares your personal information with the service provider you make payments with for reconciliation purposes. We never share your information with any other 3rd party.

Sniip collects anonymous information about payments and app usage. Such information is aggregated and remains anonymous.

We back up your payment history on our secure server for audit purposes and so you can store your receipts on the app. That way you can refer back to them anytime. We will never transfer your purchase history to a 3rd party.

Please email Sniip at info@sniip.com so we can permanently delete your account, then simply uninstall the app.

If you login to the app on another device, you will be required to enter your credit card information again. This is because the credit card information is encrypted on the device and gets wiped if you login from a different device.

If you incorrectly enter your PIN three times, the app will lock you out. But don’t worry, we will send you an email asking to reactivate your account and issue you with a temporary PIN. You will then be prompted to change your PIN when you are in the app.

We require you to register with your email address for further security reasons. For example, if you incorrectly enter your PIN three times, the app will lock you out. We will send you an email asking to reactivate your account and issue you with a temporary PIN.

It is a requirement as a Sniip user to set a 4-digit PIN to protect yourself from unwelcome payments. For added security we also recommend logging out from your Sniip account when not using the Sniip app.
